From the recording Muckey Landing Theme Song
Written for the award winning podcast, "Muckey Landing: a sort of Podcast". Along with Best Comedy Podcast, Best Editor nomination, our theme song took First Place for Best Theme Song for a Podcast at the NJ Web Fest. Hope you like it as much as I had fun writing, recording and singing it!
Lyrics
I went down to the corner store
Bet'cha all know what I found
Nothin' but rain and salty water
Soaking through that muddy ground
You might pick a fight
You could get lucky
But the ground beneath your feet's
Always gonna be a little mucky
Even when the sun is shining down
Now the Dooley Twins
Were passing by
They got one brain between 'em
And only three good eyes
They're headed for the woods
Gonna hunt them up some squirrels
The retired teacher, she's throwin' fits
Old men are always snickerin, pointing at her tits
She's the prettiest woman in town
Maybe in the Whole Wide World
Dave is poor, he don't work for a living
But I must be Rockefeller with all the money I've been giving 'I'm
But he tells me if it's gonna rain
And that's good to know
CJ works.but he's got his hobbies
Like tellin' long stories down at Whiskey Molly's
And drinking all their beer
And spending all his dough
I went down to the corner store
Bet'cha all know what I found
Nothin' but rain and salty water
Soaking through that muddy ground
You might pick a fight
You could get lucky
But the ground beneath your feet's
Always gonna be a little mucky
Even when the sun is shining down
Now the travelin' show is rolling down the street
It's got 25 characters and only 49 feet
Seems to me
They might never leave town
Yeah, so bring your best
Bring your worst
You're gonna find out you ain't never been the first
Your little circus ain't the only show in town
Look away, Muckey Landing, look away
Look away, Muckey Landing. Look away
Look away, Muckey Landing, look away
Look away, Muckey Landing
Ah.(ad lib, scat, nonsensical jibberish)
